Joel Fountain has maintained a diverse career as a musician. He has toured the world with jazz legend Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau Band and played in the Grammy-nominated One O'clock Lab Band. He has performed, recorded and toured with many great musicians, including Laila Biali, Jens Lindemann, Dee Daniels, Chris Gestrin and Quatuor André Lachance.

Joel holds a bachelor’s degree in jazz arranging from the University of North Texas, where he had the opportunity to perform with Rufus Reid, John Abercrombie, Kenny Wheeler, Byron Stripling, Mike Stern, Bob Dorough and many great Texas musicians.

Joel has played on many full-length CDs and released two studio albums of original music. He has an extensive knowledge of studio recording and production and founded Sitmom Records in 2006. He will be releasing a brand-new solo album in 2023.
