MBA (Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea)
Brett joined Selkirk College`s School of Business in August 2018 following 17 years of career growth in Japan and South Korea. Brett`s interest in international business practices was shaped through his early hotel management experience in Calgary and Vancouver. In 2002, he sought an opportunity in the corporate training sector in Japan as an in-house trainer at fortune-500 companies in Tokyo. This was followed by a five-year experience as academic director at a large (500 students+) adult language institute in Daejeon, South Korea. Keen to further his academic credentials, he completed a rigorous MBA degree from Yonsei University in Seoul in 2010; following which, he gained six years of lecturer experience at two universities in South Korea, and three years` experience as an international student marketer / administrator at a university in Yokohama, Japan.
Brett`s research interests are rooted in the services marketing, experiential value, and international post-secondary education literature. While at Selkirk, he is keen to assist international students with their Canadian sojourn and to share, where relevant, comparative international management examples as a way to support learning outcomes.
