Having grown up nestled between the Purcell, Selkirk and Rocky Mountains in Kimberley, BC, Kristen has always had a passion for the outdoors and travel.
Kristen joined Selkirk College after several years of experience working in the tourism industry. She spent time in adventure tourism—from guiding cycling trips in Canada and Europe to working at heli-skiing lodges here in British Columbia. She also has experience working with both the provincial and national park services as a park ranger and hiking guide. Kristen brings her passion for working in tourism into the classroom and enjoys sharing her experience with her students.
Kristen holds a Bachelor of Design from Emily Carr University, a Bachelor of Education in High School STEM from Thompson Rivers University and a Master of Land and Water Systems from the University of British Columbia. Kristen is lucky enough to continue her journey of learning with her students, who enrich the classroom with their knowledge and experiences.
In her free time, Kristen can be found outside. She enjoys skiing, rock climbing, trail running, biking and painting mountain landscapes.
