How do I know which year I will be invited?

The timeframe for invitation to Convocation is studies between September 1, 2023, and August 31, 2024. If you have completed or are anticipated to complete your program in this timeframe, you will be included in the sign up for the event.

If I am invited to Convocation, does that mean I successfully completed my program?

No, the Convocation ceremony is a separate process from your actual graduation in terms of receiving your credential.

Will I get my diploma when I cross the stage?

Diplomas will not be handed out at the event. Students will receive their diploma in the mail, 6-8 weeks after program completion.

If I fail a grade, will it prevent me from being able to attend Convocation?

No, you will still be able to participate in the event. Your diploma however will not be mailed until full graduation requirements were met.

If you are eligible to participate in the Convocation ceremony, you will receive an invitation by email typically sent in March. If you feel you are eligible to participate in the ceremony and do not receive an invitation, please contact us

If my guests can’t attend, will there be a recording or livestream they can watch?

Yes, the event will be livestreamed.

If I sign up and then choose to not participate, will I get a refund?

No, the fee is non-refundable.

Do I have to attend?

No, attending is entirely up to you. It is not required.

Is this event free?

No, there is a fee. The early bird fee is $36 until midnight on February 29. After that, the fee is $46.

How do I get a cap and gown?

Caps and gowns will be available to students on the day of the event.

During the sign-up process, a form will ask you for your height, this is when you are assigned a gown.

Do I get to keep the cap and gown?

You get to keep the cap, but not the gown. The gown must be returned at the end of the day, or a charge will be added to your student record.

Do I need to apply for my credential?

No, there is no application for credentials. If you are invited to Convocation, you will automatically be reviewed for notation once all grades are posted at the end of April (or the end of your semester if it is different).

However, if you feel that you have all the requirements for graduation/completion and have not received the graduation notation on your transcript, please contact us

When and how will I receive my credential

It will take 8-10 weeks from the time final grades are posted for credentials to be mailed.

Credentials are mailed via Canada Post standard mail. Please ensure the address listed on your student record is up to date to ensure you receive it.

Can I pre-order my final official transcript?

Yes. Via your student record, on the left side panel, select “Order Official Transcript.” Please choose preparation as “Graduating Student.”

Once your final notation is granted, the transcript will be printed the next day and either mailed or ready for pick, based on your order selection.

How do I get a confirmation letter for my Post-Graduate Work Permit (PGWP)? (International Students Only)

After you have made the order for your final official transcript as a “graduating student,” please email us with your name and student number requesting a letter. The PGWP letter will be provided with your final transcript as per the delivery method selected in your transcript order.
