Recruitment Process
Davies Park was hired by Selkirk College to recruit the president. It is a leading western Canadian executive search firm with significant experience in recruiting leaders in the post-secondary sector.
Since November 2010, Davies Park, in conjunction with a Selkirk College Search Committee, led a national search for the Presidential position. More than 700 people were directly contacted as part of the search process. A total of 104 applications were received from across Canada and around the world.
The Search Committee included students and members of all employee groups at the college. It followed a very diligent and methodical process in defining the position and evaluating applicants for suitability. The Search Committee met on three different occasions prior to conducting formal interviews with the four leading candidates.
The Search Committee then recommended two candidates to the Board of Governors and the Board made the final selection on April 8, 2011. The letter of acceptance was signed by Angus Graeme on April 12, 2011. His tenure officially begins on April 15, 2011.
