Selkirk Saints Volleyball Camp Serves Local Athletes

The Selkirk Saints Athletic program at Selkirk College is quickly becoming the centre for sport specific camps in the Kootenay region.

After hosting a successful Golf Camp in July, the Saints are now set to serve the 2nd annual Saints Volleyball Camp to local athletes at the Castlegar campus from August 31-September 3, 2009.

Joe Moreira (Selkirk Saints Women’s Volleyball and Mt. Sentinel Volleyball coach), will be the Camp Director for the volleyball camp, accompanied by many current varsity players and Selkirk College alumni.

“We are very proud to be providing an opportunity for our youth to explore, learn and excel in the world of volleyball,” says Moreira. “This camp will focus on the enjoyment of the game, improvement of skills, and the development of important traits such as attitude, teamwork and work ethic.”

The co-ed camp will be offered to youth from grades 6-12 at different times throughout each day. Grades 6-7 will participate from 9:00 am-12:00 pm; Grades 8-10 will be hosted from 1:00 pm-4:30 pm; and Grade 11-12 students will participate from 5:30 pm-9:00 pm.
