Selecting the Recipient
Defining the selection criteria for a financial award allows you to focus on people or programs that support your vision. In general, selection criteria for financial awards address the following points:
- In the case of scholarship, academic excellence is the primary selection criteria.
- In the case of a bursary, financial need is the primary selection criteria.
- Both types of awards may include program of study.
- Other selection criteria may be defined to support your vision. Please note that excessively detailed or finite selection criteria may make it difficult to locate a recipient for your award. Staff in the Selkirk College Development office will be pleased to discuss selection criteria with you as you establish your award.
