A Rivalry in the Making - Saints Host COTR Avalanche
On November 28, the Selkirk College men's volleyball team will host their arch rival College of the Rockies Avalanche (COTR). Despite losing close matches to the Columbia Bible College Bearcats 3-0 and 3-2 this past weekend on November 20, 21, the Saints are still in the hunt for a playoff berth. They finally get to play a team out of the top five in the nationally competitive BCCAA. The Saints dropped both matches against COTR last year however the seven returning players and four new additions to the team are eager to exact a little revenge.
"If we can continue to play at the same level we did in last Saturday’s match (that had the Saints winning 26-24 in the third, 25-17 in the fourth and then losing a nail biter 13-15 in the fifth) we should be able to get our first league win of the season. Other than that, I expect this match to be a war between two colleges that are both rebuilding and have rich histories of success."
Game times for November 28 are 1:00 pm for the women and 2:45 pm for the men. The Saints would certainly appreciate your support so come out and watch some great action at the Castlegar Campus Gymnasium.
This will be the last competition before the final exam period and Christmas break.
