Saints Come Up Short Against Okanagan College

The Saints men’s hockey team travelled to Kelowna to get their first look at the expansion Okanagan College Crusaders. In Friday’s game the Crusaders came out flying, out shooting the Saints 37-15 in the first two periods to earn a 4-2 lead. The Saints put the pressure on in the third but were unable to tally anything further, losing the game 5-2. Scoring for the Saints was Cam Humphrey and Bryon Baker, who assisted on each other’s goals. Logan Simpson added the other helper. Cody Deadmarsh earned second star of the game after facing 53 shots overall.

Saturday contest was not much different as Okanagan College once again built an early lead of 3-0 after one period. The Saints had trouble putting the puck on the net and could only muster 17 shots over the entire game. Once again. Cody Deadmarsh rose to the occasion this time earning first star as he allowed only four goals on 62 shots. Final score was 4-2 Crusaders. Saints got goals from Cam Humphrey and Joey Underwood. Earning assists were Devon Nazaroff, Adam Makaroff and Braden Mace.

The Saints now travel to Kamloops on Nov. 28, 29 to face the other expansion team, Thompson Rivers University Wolfpack.

The Saints next home games are not until the New Year.
