Selkirk Saints Ring in the New Year
Selkirk College Volleyball
The Selkirk Saints volleyball program will ring in the New Year with their last home stand of the season against the Capilano University Blues. The Blues women currently rank second in the province while the men sit seventh. In comparison, the Saints men sit only two points back of their North Vancouver counterparts and four points out of the last playoff position. It could prove to be a very spirited affair this weekend. The Saints women are still looking for their first win and are eight points out of the final playoff position.
Games will be played at the Castlegar Campus gymnasium:
Friday 6:00 pm (women), 7:45 pm (men)
Saturday 1:00 pm (women), 2:25 pm (men)
Selkirk College Hockey
The Selkirk Saints hockey team will host the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) this coming weekend for a double header at the Castlegar Complex. Game times are 7:30 pm Saturday and 10:00 am Sunday. UFV currently sits in fifth place in the BCIHL while the Saints occupy seventh.
The Saints just recently returned from a lower mainland swing on Jan 9/10 where they dropped both contests by scores of 6-0 at the hands of Simon Fraser University and Fraser Valley. They’ll be looking for a strong showing at home where they know they can compete. The first half of the season saw the Saints beat defending champion, University of Victoria Vikes at home in early November.
