Fundamental English
This course is for adults who want to improve their reading, writing, research, and study skills, and who have had some practice with reading and writing.
Students work on their own and in small groups to gain the skills to cope well in personal, work, and education situations. This course may include reading articles and books; writing sentences, paragraphs, stories, and letters; and working on research projects using computer, library, and community resources.
Students begin at the level that is right for them. New students meet with an instructor at the campus nearest them to discuss their goals and assess their skill level. Available in Castlegar, Grand Forks, Kaslo, Nakusp, Nelson, and Trail.
Upon completion of Fundamental English, students are ready to enter a grade 10 level English course.
Prerequisites:
Speak and understand English.
