Dr. Shawn Wilson, an Opaskwayak Cree from Manitoba, discusses the necessity of developing and applying an “Indigenist paradigm” to create an Indigenous vision for the future.
In our collective path towards peace and justice, Indigenist research is needed to shift the focus away from how communities want not to be and instead focus on how communities and families want to be.
Tickets are available at the door only. Cost is $16 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. This event is sponsored by Teck Resources.
Join us for a Community Dinner with Dr. Wilson before the lecture and a thoughtful workshop examining challenges faced by researchers conducting their work in Aboriginal communities with Dr. Wilson on Saturday, the 19th.
