Singer and composer Moira Smiley brings her improvisational approach to traditional folk songs to Nelson as she connects with Selkirk College Contemporary Music & Technology students.
Catch Smiley's latest solo show, The Voice is a Traveler, at the Nelson United Church on March 3. In her songs, you will hear themes of "real and metaphorical border crossings - hopeful immigrants, exiles in mourning, or each of us seeking belonging and empathy... performances bring elegance and grit to folk-songs, original and ancient."
With her, she brings musician Seamus Egan also be doing clinics with Selkirk College music students and Corazon/Lalin choirs.
