The Adventures and Adversity of Kootenay Archaeology
Regional archaeologists, Ian Tamasi and Lindsey Neill, will present on their work in Cultural Resource Management (CRM) within the Kootenays, giving their perspective on working in the engaging field of archaeology. This discussion will highlight problems that affect the archaeological community, such as: the misunderstood and sensationalized portrayal of archaeology, lack of public education and awareness of provincial legislation and process; these problems frequently lead to a disconnect between developers, indigenous communities and governing agencies. An artifact viewing will be available for the audience after the presentation.
Soup, Coffee and Tea will be served.
