Join Us for an Eclectic Night of Get-Out-of-Your-Seat Music!

Selkirk’s Royal Spotlight features four instructor-led student ensembles from the Contemporary Music & Technology Program presenting an incredible night of great music!

  • Doors open at 7 pm and the show will start at 8 pm. 
  • All proceeds will go towards Selkirk College music student scholarships.

The Selkirk Jazz Ensemble is dedicated to the exciting world of the jazz tradition and the Great American Songbook. The ensemble will feature:

Kaes Blommmestein (drums), David Feldman (bass), Carter Lorenz (guitar), Sapphire Guthrie (vocals), Peter Macintyre (guitar) and Aaron Zuchewich (keyboards).


The Selkirk College Family Bluegrass Band will transport you into the immersive experience of acoustic stringed instruments and vocal harmonies with traditional and contemporary covers from intimate to energetic sounds. The ensemble will feature:

Rena Vee and Daniela Pacheco Fonseca (vocals), Kadin Bergen (double bass and vocals), Erik Czechak (banjo). Jill McKenna (mandolin), Trevor McCarron (harmonica and guitar) and Amélie Hébert-Chaput (guitar).


Broadway Ensemble will be playing your favourite Broadway songs, rock opera, and much more! The ensemble will feature:  


Santiago Brodie (guitar),
Kaes Blommestein (drums), Yeshua Arcos Martinez (vocals), Cameron Simon (vocals), Luzura Ramos-Swanston (vocals), Rocco Kong (vocals),
Mika Elkuf-Warthe (vocals) and
Sera Kate Stevens (keys).


Scary Pockets Ensemble is always in pursuit of more funk! The ensemble will feature:

Dune Macdonald (guitar), Adam Cripps (bass), Reid Erickson (drums), Zenaya Semple (vocals), Sophia Fusco (vocals), Sapphire Guthrie (vocals), Colby Greaves (keys), and Quin Tanner (trumpet).


Tickets are $10 for the community and $5 for Selkirk College students.
