While I am new to the School of Academic Upgrading and Development, I recognize that the program offers a unique opportunity for learners of achieve success and reach their goals. I've had a great orientation to the school by working as an on-call instructor in several of Selkirk's Learning centers. Being an instructor at the Silver King campus is an exciting challenge for me.
I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Guelph and then my Education degree from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, ON. I started my teaching career in Ontario in high school sciences. Knowing that my future plans did not involve living in South Western Ontario, I continued the Silviculture work that had afforded me my university education. That path lead me to cooking and catering for ski lodges and back country huts, more catering and cooking and a couple kids later, I'm excited to be returning to my role as an educator. I hope that the lessons I've gained from my professional and personal life will serve me well as I help learners in Selkirk's school of Academic Upgrading and Development.
