Finding Her Way Home
It would seem that destiny has brought Mollie back to this beautiful town nestled in the mountains. Having grown up in the Kootenays, she found her way back after living in Victoria, BC as well as Peterborough, ON. Whilst there is beauty to be found in all places, the lakes, rivers, mountains and eclectic town of Nelson drew her back. A love for life and finding the balance between work and play has brought Mollie back to Selkirk College in a whole new way!
Welcomes Challenges and Adventure
Mollie holds a dynamic background in customer service and loves to take on new challenges and adventures. She has checked in Patrick Stewart (Jean Luc Packard), Nelly Furtado, Ron Pearlman while working as a Ticket, Arrivals and Gate Agent with Horizon Airlines, "Welcome to Horizon Air Flight 2144 with service to Seattle, please have your boarding pass open to the picture page." Mollie also recalls being afraid she would instinctively do the boarding announcement as "Welcome to Dairy Queen, may I take your order," as she started out her working history at the DQ in Sidney, BC. She worked for Mountain Trek Fitness Retreat soon after moving back to Nelson in 2014 and fully enjoyed the vista of Kootenay Lake during her shifts. In Mollie's biggest career venture to date, she worked for the Federal Government as a Border Services Officer (BSO). She started out as a student while finishing her studies at the University of Victoria, and went on to become a Regular Officer. Mollie's time as a BSO was very interesting and yet, she didn't meet any famous people! Mollie trained for two and a half months, which included learning an extraordinary amount of Legislation in Rigaud, QC.
In the summer Mollie likes to hike with her dog, swim, SUP, camp, and enjoy the sunshine. In the winter, she snowshoes, downhill skis, snowboards, cross-country skis and hikes with her Yak Tracks securely fastened. To balance strength and flexibility, she likes to combine yoga with a strength training routine as well as practicing meditation to calm her Aries mind. Holistic Health is very important to Mollie and she always looks for ways to improve her experience of life including trying Acupuncture, Reflexology and other alternative modes of healing.
