Passionate about teaching and learning, Pat has held a variety of positions including instructor, program coordinator, Dean, Associate V.P., Director of International and Senior Technical Advisor. In the role of Dean, Pat has worked with a variety of departments including: Fashion,Trades, Business, Academic Upgrading, Transitions, Office Administration, Liberal Arts, GIS, International and Supports for students with Disabilities. Pat has been involved internationally and has worked on agricultural and business programs in China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mozambique, Belize and Tanzania. As a Senior Technical Advisor with Colleges and Institutes Canada, Pat was based in Jamaica for two years and worked with Caribbean and Canadian partners in Guyana, Suriname, Belize and Jamaica. Pat has also traveled to many countries for the purpose of recruiting international students for secondary and post secondary institutions.
Pat is recognized as being creative, enthusiastic, innovative, collaborative and one who gets the work done. She has received an Instructor Excellence award through her college as well as receiving the National Instructor Excellence award from the National Institute for Staff & Organizational Development (NISOD). While attending grad studies she was recognized as one of "40 University of Calgary students to watch in the Future". Pat was very involved at the community level and was the recipient of the Community Builder Award, Innisfail and Municipal Excellence Partnership award for her work with Welcoming Immigrants and Newcomers into Central Alberta. Pat believes it is important to develop relationships, to be collaborative, to connect with students and faculty and use your creativity to develop opportunities for students.
