I spent 2 years in the RN program at Selkirk College, went on to work in Mental Health & Addictions for 2 years and then became an LPN in 2010. Since then I have focused my studies on Gerontology, and more specifically, Dementia. I worked for a short time in Acute Care and quickly found my passion in Residential Care working at several sites as an LPN before settling into a management role for a couple of years. While working as a Resident Care Coordinator, I worked through the Gerontology Certificate Program. In 2015, I was trained as a gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Coach and am so happy to be able to share some new approaches to caring for people with Dementia. I'm thrilled to be able to share my knowledge and passion with students!
