You are expected to have enough money to support yourself while you are studying in Canada.
Each year Selkirk College awards scholarships for academic excellence in most program areas. International students are eligible for consideration for these scholarships. You do not need to apply to be considered, all students are automatically considered each term. In addition, we have a number of scholarships awarded specifically to international students each year who have completed at least one year at Selkirk College. We have six $500 scholarships for students in regular college programs each year. These scholarships are determined by the departments and instructors and are largely based on GPA. Students do not need to apply for these scholarships, as all eligible students are automatically considered each year. These will be awarded in September to students beginning year two of their program.
Each year, depending on budget funding allocation, Selkirk College in conjunction with Selkirk International, awards a scholarship equivalent to tuition for one year of study at Selkirk College. Students who apply for this scholarship must meet regular entrance requirements for their program of study.
The application deadline is November 15 each year. More information on how to apply, selection criteria and eligibility requirements is available here. A copy of the application form is available here.
In the winter semester, bursaries can be awarded to international students who apply and demonstrate financial need. Talk to the International Student Services Coordinator or the Department Head to find out more and apply.
