Castlegar
Castlegar is a small city of about 8000 people in the Kootenay region of British Columbia. It is in a valley surrounded by beautiful mountains. It is peaceful and safe here. The environment is very clean, the air is fresh and the water in the river is blue and inviting. The City of Castlegar is located where the Columbia and Kootenay Rivers meet. Selkirk College
Established in 1966, Selkirk College was the first public community college in British Columbia. We now serve about 1800 students each year, including about 100 international students. The international students study ESL (English as a Second Language), College Diploma and/or Certificate programs or University Transfer Courses. Selkirk College is a regional community college with campuses in Castlegar, Nelson, Trail and Grand Forks, and smaller centres in other communities.
