The National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) has recognized Selkirk College faculty and staff for their teaching and leadership excellence.
Since 1978, NISOD has been dedicated to the professional development of faculty, administrators and staff; and to the continued improvement of teaching and learning, with the ultimate goal of student success.
This May, Bruce McMaster, Dan Obradovic, Holly Martin, Henri Bureaud and Rebecca Jacobson of Selkirk College will have the opportunity to head to Austin, Texas, to receive well-deserved NISOD Excellence Awards and attend the NISOD International Conference on Teaching and Leadership Excellence—the largest three-and-a-half-day event conference focusing on community colleges.

Instructor of Industry and Trades Training, Bruce McMaster, has been recognized for his outstanding professionalism and leadership qualities in several different program areas. His passion and commitment for great teaching led to his students making a strong showing in Skills Canada competitions.
The role of School of Industry and Trades Training Chair, Dan Obradovic, is one of educational leadership and administration. He has been acknowledged for being a great asset to this role, to the Industry and Trades team and to the overall educational leadership of the college.
Administrative Assistant, Holly Martin, has been awarded for being a knowledgeable, helpful and caring member of the School of Industry and Trades Training. Holly consistently demonstrates a commitment to excellence in her work, an eagerness to take on a project or task and does so with expertise and professionalism. She is responsible, receptive and never lets students or college staff down!
As Chair of the School of Business and Aviation, Henri Bureaud has provided outstanding and tireless service to his school and to the college. Henri has supported many faculty initiatives aimed at recruitment, student success and facility improvements. In Business Administration he supports a program-wide Business Competition and Career Fair as learning opportunities for students and the community, and he has been instrumental in securing major facility and equipment upgrades in the Aviation – Professional Pilot program.
Rebecca Jacobson, School of University Arts and Sciences faculty member, has been recognized for providing support to other faculty members in their development of online courses. Rebecca is dedicated to professional excellence and providing exemplary service to her students, colleagues and the college.
