Suzanne Ector was hired on June 1st, 2011, as the Research Assistant for the Selkirk Geospatial Research Centre. The position primarily includes applied research project work that integrates both geographic information systems and remote sensing technologies.
Most of Suzanne's career has been in the software development industry. Her last job was with Sun Microsystems, where she was responsible for the development of web-based e-commerce and portal software for 10 years. Most recently, Suzanne has been contracted to work on Geographic Information Systems (GIS) related projects.
Suzanne holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Engineering, a Master's in Computer Science and a Graduate Certificate in GIS. She grew up in the Kootenay Region but has been living in the United States (Oregon) most of her adult life.
