Aviation - Professional Pilot
Welcome to Selkirk College’s Aviation - Professional Pilot program. This two-year diploma program trains women and men for entry-level positions in the Canadian aviation industry and provides students with the background necessary to keep pace with advances in flight technology.
Selkirk’s aviation students train in the new Aviation Training Centre at the West Kootenay Regional Airport, minutes from the Castlegar campus. They learn the skills of the craft from our team of highly trained and experienced professional flight instructors. These instructors have practical experience in many areas of the aviation industry and are Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) rated. They have flown for airlines and corporate operations, in Northern operations and for the military.
Students have access to professional, high quality aviation equipment, including FRASCA and ALSIM flight simulators and our training fleet of Cessna 172 Skyhawk and Beechcraft 95 Travel Aire airplanes.
