Learn - Build - Lead

Terrain parks at snow resorts across the country have been evolving to meet the growing and changing needs of their guests.  Over 4 years ago a group of like minded snow industry professionals got together and started considering opportunities for the development of educational sessions focused solely on freestyle terrain development. This committee consisting of ski area managers, snowcat drivers, park designers/builders and snow school staff and other industry representatives, developed curriculum which includes risk management, conflict resolution as well as design-build-maintain and operational sessions.  The program is offered through an on line session in the pre-season and two days on-snow where participants go out and build a terrain park from the ground up.   The intention is to allow participants to learn through guided discovery while maintaining an aspect of creativity in the design.

Check out the ParkScapers video on YouTube.

Parkscapers' mission statement is “to provide an organized forum to Learn by sharing best practices for Freestyle Terrain and Parks and to Build on continued advancement toward consistent standards as we Lead training, safety and development within the snow resorts industry in Canada”.

New this year participants have the option of taking either the full course, including online and on hill components, or taking the online course on its own. Participants choosing the full course must complete the online portion of the course prior to the on hill session. Course Information Sheet
