Forest Technology

For over 40 years, the Selkirk College forest technology training has provided an excellent start for any outdoor career. In fact, Selkirk's program was the first forestry school in British Columbia. We emphasize an ecological approach to forestry education in subject areas such as: applied ecology, silviculture, hydrology, forest health, aboriginal peoples and environmental management.

Our classroom is the outdoors with over half of your educational time being spent in the forests and mountains of the west kootenay.

The Selkirk College forestry technology is both nationally and provincially accredited. After graduation you can apply with the Association of BC Forest Professionals to become a Registered Forest Technologist in British Columbia.
