The certificate in Renewable Energy addresses a growing new field of study in renewable energy technologies including geothermal, micro hydro, wind, solar, and biomas as alternate sources of energy. The profession of renewable energy is new and evolving, many different professionals such as engineers, electricians, biologists, foresters, chemists and others are involved, additionally, technologists support the professionals listed above. The one year renewable energy certificate, is an entry level credential aimed at providing a survey of renewable energy technologies as well as some hands on technical skills for job readiness. Our vision of graduates for this program are that they can use the credential as an entry point into the realm of renewable energy, that involves job readiness to support renewable energy professionals and technologists and provide a foundation to pursue other academic and employment opportunities.
