E-Team Legacy Crew


Twelve students worked in the E-Team program for B.C Parks during the summer of 2000. The work provided valuable experience in campsite and trail design and maintenance, ecosystem restoration, sensitive site management, mapping, team-work and basic field skill development. Two graduates of the RFW program provided supervision and the crew had seven first year students were employed.year students were employed.year students were employed.
Training

Greenwood Forest Extension Center


The Forestry program completed a three-year Forest Renewal BC contract (1996-1998) to deliver the College's Forestry Technology program in Greenwood, B.C. With a budget of 1.5 million dollars, the project was a great success at training people of the Boundary and South Okanagan, and for the people of the Boundary region. An excellent employment rate for graduates was the finest measure of success.
Partners in the project included the Greenwood Improvement Society, Pope and Talbot, Ministry of Forests, Community Futures, and the city of Greenwood.
Canadian International Development Agreement

Canadian College Partnership Project Vietnam


The School of Renewable Resources completed a four-year international development contract in Vietnam. Partners in the project included Olds College, University College of Fraser Valley and Hong Duc University (HDU) in Thanh Hoa Province, North Central Vietnam. The project involved assisting in the development of HDU's agriculture and forestry training including: development of the school's demonstration farm/forest, strategic planning, curriculum development, teaching methodology, development of partnerships, and program management.School of Renewable Resources completed a four-year international development contract in Vietnam. As part of the project Canadian faculty and students traveled and worked at HDU, while staff from HDU came to the Canadian colleges to study. Two Selkirk students spent three months each in Thanh Hoa during the contract.

Cominco Ltd.


Renewable Resources faculty member Rob Macrae, an instructor in the IEP program, has provided training to the Environmental Technical staff at Cominco's Trail and Red Dog Alaska facilities. To date Rob has completed three training contracts for Cominco Ltd.

Short Term Training Contracts


School of Renewable Resources staff have provided short-term training over a broad range of subject areas to numerous clients.
