Land Management
Selkirk College is committed to providing opportunities for students to put their studies to practical use. Classroom learning is important, but it becomes far more valuable when merged with practical experience.
The College Grounds themselves have over 60 heactares of private land that is managed by the School of Renewable Resources.
The School of Renewable Resources also manages 590 hectares of forested crown land under a Woodlot Licence agreement with the British Columbia Ministry of Forests.
Finally, the School in collaboration with local communities, manages the Skattebo Educational Forest, a 285-hectare private land area.
