Hairdressing

The primary objective of the Hairdressing program is to develop skills in hairstyling techniques and to gain knowledge of related areas which will enable graduates to perform the work of an operator. Students receive theoretical and practical skills training throughout the program including a weekly practicum at a commercial salon. Learning is accomplished through practical instruction and student participation with equipment, tools, and materials used in the hairdressing trade.

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded a Selkirk College Certificate of Completion and are eligible to write the examination for the Cosmetology Industry Association of BC Hairdressing Certificate.
