Bio
Frank comes to Selkirk from a background in geology (BSc Ohio State University '68, MSc University of Minnesota '71) with twenty years of international experience in mineral exploration. He began university teaching (geology) while in Brazil, followed by additional training (BEd Ohio University '87) and teaching at the high-school level before starting at Selkirk in '91. In addition to his work in UAS, he instructs Hydrology and other courses within the School of Environment and Geomatics. He currently lives in Rossland with his wife, Elizabeth.
Research and Recent Activities
Recent teaching includes a two semester sequence in first year university geology (physical and historical), a two semester sequence in hydrology for the School of Environment and Geomatics, a second year university course in geography (geomorphology), and a lab section for a course on geology, landforms and soils for the School of Environment and Geomatics.
Recent field work and study includes collection, examination and correlation of local lake sediment cores to determine the late- and post-glacial history of the Kootenay Region.
