Two-Year UAS Programs
The School of University Arts and Sciences offers a number of programs that take two years to complete. Our various Associate Degrees, which offer block transfer into third-year university studies at many universities in BC, across Canada, and beyond.
Peace Studies Programs
University Arts and Sciences, working together with the Mir Centre for Peace at Selkirk College, offers two-year university transferable programs in Peace Studies. The Associate of Arts Degree in Peace Studies focuses on peace and the environment, and the Liberal Arts Diploma in Peace Studies emphasizes peace in a cultural and international context. Both programs are enriched with a service learning component in the local community or farther afield, or with directed academic research in peace studies.
Writing Programs
Selkirk College writing programs emphasize portfolio development and professional practices for writers in any discipline. The Associate of Arts Degree in English (Writing Studies) fulfills the course requirements to enter the third year of university major or honours programs in English. The Liberal Arts Diploma in Writing Studies offers two years of diverse liberal arts and sciences enriched with writing: for the workplace, communications, and freelance writing. This diploma also emphasizes imaginative writing in fiction, poetry, non-fiction or drama.
