Program Objectives
As part of the Mir Centre for Peace at Selkirk College, the Liberal Arts Diploma in Peace Studies combines core peace studies courses and peace studies-related courses offered by other disciplines. Students complete two years of university transferable course work in the liberal arts with electives in each semester, allowing the program to be tailored to suit your own unique interests. The program incorporates a service learning component and/or directed academic research.

Program Requirements
To earn a Liberal Arts Diploma in Peace Studies, students must:
- Complete a total of 60 credits of university transferable courses.
- Complete all of the core peace studies courses, ECON 106 and 107, ENGL 110 and 111, ANTH 205 and 201, and PHIL 201.
- Choose at least one elective in each semester from the peace studies-related courses.
If you wish to add an ecological focus to your diploma program, take BIOL 104, 106, and 200 as some of your electives.
