Geography
Want to get a good job, do something you love and have a real impact on the world? Geography can provide that and more!
What is Geography?
Geographers study the physical, ecological, cultural and social processes that shape our landscapes. This rich multi-disciplinary approach provides a unique perspective into understanding the complexities of the highly globalized world we live in.
Geography opens up a wide range of career opportunities for its students. In addition to gaining discipline specific knowledge, students will develop numerous transferable skills including critical problem solving, communication skills, literacy, numeracy, and computer competency. Most importantly Geography lays the groundwork for life long learning.
Geography Courses
Selkirk College offers courses in physical geography, cultural geography, the geography of British Columbia, and geomorphology. Also see PEAC 201: Peace, Environment and Human Security, which transfers as a geography course to some institutions.
