Help us inspire others to build lives of peace

The Mir Centre for Peace Lecture Series has exceeded its target of $200,000 through a very successful fundraising campaign. These funds will go directly into the Mir Centre Speaker Series Endowment. The annual return on the endowment investment will help support the Lecture Series for years to come.

On September 21, 2009, Selkirk College launched The Mir Centre for Peace Lecture Series Endowment Campaign. To date we have raised over $200,000 towards the Endowment plus $100,000 from Mr. Allan P. Markin, OC, AOE, chairman of Canadian Natural Resources Limited, a director of Owen Media Partners and one of the owners of the Calgary Flames ice hockey franchise of the National Hockey League based in Calgary, Alberta. The donation will be distributed in $20,000 increments over the next five years to support the Lecture Series and Selkirk College students. It will remain separate from the Mir Centre for Peace Endowment Campaign.
