Peace Café ♦ Tolstoy and the "Green Stick"

A memorial to the Russian Writer and philosopher on the 100th anniversity of his death

Leo Tolstoy's legacy of spiritual philosophy forms part of a living tradition which includes Thoreau, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, while his material generosity to the Doukhobor community in Russia and Canada stands as one of the foundational social realities of the Mir Centre for Peace.  On the 100th anniversary of the writer's death, we invite you to join with us in remembering his beliefs, his achievements, and the relevance of his ideas to the coming century.  Discussion of Tolstoy’s dream of the “green stick" will be led by Myler Wilkinson.

Sunday, November 7, 2010 ♦ Mir Centre for Peace, Castlegar, BC ♦ 1:00 - 3:30 pm
