Mapping of recreational opportunities in rural areas has the potential to increase economic development in our communities. In conjunction with partners in the Salmo area, a high-quality recreation map was built to highlight areas of interest for tourism. Global Positioning Systems (GPS) are essential for mapping trails and points of interest and was used extensively to collect the data for this project. The information gathered was build into a comprehensive map that will be a user friendly resource for tourists seeking recreational opportunities within the area.
