Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
The Selkirk College Community First Health Centre is a service- and learning-based community health centre that operates in collaboration with the Nelson Community First Health Cooperative to provide innovative solutions and practical experiences for patients as well as nursing students.
As members of a healthcare team, student nurses participate with their instructor in practicums of up to six weeks, providing patients with health information, referrals, support and community outreach services.
The centre also runs broad health-related campaigns that provide information to the public about topics such as heart disease, understanding the health care system and managing seniors’ health issues.
