Local CPT Sessions
The Computerized Placement Test (CPT) is required of all students Selkirk College applicants. It provides a basis for advising students on appropriate program or course choices, thereby increasing their chances of success.
Please note that completion of the Local CPT Sessions is just one of the application requirements. You must complete all the required program prerequisites before being accepted into a program of study.
Selkirk College offers CPT sessions at the Castlegar, Nelson and Trail Campuses.

There are some students who may be exempt from the CPT. If you have taken English 12 or Math 12 within the last two years and received a grade of B or better OR if you have credit for a post-secondary English or math course (taken within the last three years) and received a B or better, please contact Coordinator of CPT and Invigilation Services at 250-365-1313 or cpt@selkirk.ca to discuss a possible exemption. Note: This must be formally discussed, approved and documented to satisfy admissions requirements.
Students applying for the Aviation, Pharmacy Technician or Business Administration Program are not eligible for CPT exemptions.
