Learning Success Centre

The term 'study skills' refers to a huge array of personality traits, attitudes, thinking processes, and behaviours -- all of which are related to how a person approaches a learning task. The Learning Sucess Centre staff provide handouts, workshops, and one-on-one help in the many areas related to academic performance. One-on-one tutoring and workshops focus on effective learning and study skills and include topics such as time management, note-taking, academic reading, exam preparation etc.

The following links contain information on a huge array of different aspects related to a successful educational experience:

Learning and Studying Guides Index - This website was created by Joe Landsberg from the Academic Web Services at the University of St. Thomas. It is collaboratively maintained across institutional and national boundaries. This portal is visually appealing and easy to navigate.

Virtual Pamphlets - This is a set of links to more than 700 “virtual pamphlets” in more than 90 USA and other universities. These pamphlets are Web pages of ideas to help with all sorts of student problems, from how to take notes to how to cope with alcoholic parents -- a pretty wide span.
