Selkirk Men Speak Out Against Sexual Violence During College’s Month-Long Awareness Initiative

Selkirk College is dedicating the month of October to raising awareness about how to prevent sexual violence. The College has also produced a video just released at selkirk.ca/healthy-campus featuring men on campus taking a stand against sexual violence and offering up advice on how to be more active as leaders for change in the community.

Selkirk College Adopts Sexual Violence Policy

Selkirk College now has a Sexual Violence Policy in place making a clear commitment to creating and maintaining a safe and respectful learning, working and living environment. A statement of zero tolerance has been made.

A mobile responsive web site developed by Selkirk College students and staff asks lively questions on sometimes serious subject matter as it points users to wellbeing resources in the West Kootenay region.

Selkirk College will be able to further support students who have overcome early lifetime challenges to achieve their goals with increased provisions recently announced by the Provincial Government.

Selkirk College aims to support students who have overcome early lifetime challenges to achieve their goals. Current and former youth in care who have aged out of the foster care system and are entering in to post-secondary education may be eligible for tuition waiver, other financial supports along with individualized and peer support at Selkirk College.
