MySelkirk For Staff
Project Overview
Selkirk is currently designing a functional, high-quality intranet for staff (MySelkirk) that will improve communication within the college and be a tool that helps staff access information they need to do their jobs and provide service to students.
Even more importantanly, MySelkirk will provide a home for a large amount operational data for Selkirk College that is currently living on the college's external website selkirk.ca. This will help us re-design selkirk.ca to better meet the needs of future students, current students and the community.
Design Templates
November was an exciting and action-packed for the Web Redesign Team who are working diligently to launch the MySelkirk internally in February 2011.
We’ve had a lot exciting proposed designs come through and are excited to share our current templates for creating the website. We welcome any feedback to MySelkirk@selkirk.ca.
The pages above are design templates made in Photoshop. From these designs, a prototype is being built into html which will then be formatted into the current CMS system (T4).
Testing Of Prototype
During the third and possibly the fourth week of January, the Web Redesign Team will be testing various aspects of the prototype with staff from various functions within the college. Those that are interesting in being involved in the testing should contact MySelkirk@selkirk.ca.
Launch Date
The migration of internal content from the external website and launch of MySelkirk will be scheduled for early February 2011. Stay tuned to this site and January Grapevine editions for future updates.
Discovery Day Session February 13th
Come navigate through MySelkirk on Discovery Day. The Web Redesign Team will be navigating the live site with attendees going through the primary/secondary navigation, quicklinks and contextual "How Do I" sections. Learn how to master the site for your top tasks as well as make sure your department is using this internal communication tool to it's potential.
All attendees will enter a Discover MySelkirk Treasure Hunt (15 min) to win one of three $50 gift certificates valid for the local business of their choice.
