Steps to Apply

Before You Start

  • Please make sure you meet all admission requirements, including the general admission requirements for the college and the specific admission requirements for your chosen program (these are listed in each program area).
  • International Students (students who are applying to Selkirk College from locations outside of Canada) should follow the application steps required by Selkirk International.

Applying Online

Applicants may apply online through the Post-Secondary Application Service of British Columbia (ApplyBC). If you do not wish to apply online, please follow these steps:

Applying by Mail

1. Download and complete the Selkirk College Application Package and any other forms that are required by your program of choice. If you're not sure what is required, please check with your program coordinator, school chair, or school counsellor to make sure you have the right documentation.
If you are a landed immigrant, please note that you must provide proof of landed immigrant status and complete the citizenship section on page 4 of the application.

2. Send your application to one of the campuses listed below. Please note:

  • Applicants must arrange to submit official transcripts from secondary and post-secondary schools before they will be accepted into any program or course, including distance courses. High school or upgrading students must send interim transcripts showing courses in progress. Official transcripts are in envelopes sealed by the school or sent to Admissions directly from the school or Ministry of Education. All transcripts and other documents become the property of Selkirk College and will not be returned to the student.
  • First-time applicants must remit a non-refundable processing fee of $35. If you have paid this fee before, it is not necessary to pay it again.

3. First-time applicants are also required to take the Computerized Placement Test, a basic skills assessment of reading and math. Please call the switchboard of the campus nearest you to register or for instructions on how to take the test online.
