1. What programs are offered at Selkirk College?
Selkirk College offers a wide array of academic, career, vocational and technical programs to assist learners interested in bridging into university degree programs or attain the skills necessary to enter or upgrade their position in the workforce. 2. How much does it cost to attend Selkirk College?
Tuition at Selkirk College can be substantially lower than at university even though the credentials you receive are just as much in-demand.
3. What are the admission requirements to Selkirk College?
General Admission at Selkirk College is open to anyone who has:
- has graduated from a British Columbia Senior Secondary School or equivalent, or
- is 19 years of age or over at the time of registration, or
- is under 19 years of age but has the written recommendation of their secondary school principal, or

4. What is a prerequisite?
A prerequisite refers to the course and/or courses that meet the academic requirements necessary to aptly complete the course and /or program. Prerequisites must be completed prior to the student taking a course to ensure that the student has the required background.Get a complete list of Admission Requirements at Selkirk College
5. Can my son/daughter receive credit towards an undergraduate degree program at other colleges and universities?
Selkirk College has many other programs and courses that qualify for transfer into university degree programs. For the most current, most accurate transfer information for our courses, consult the BC Transfer Guide for specific information about Selkirk College University Arts and Sciences transfer courses.
6. How can I set up an appointment with an academic advisor?
Students may opt to see a counsellor regarding career and educational planning. Counsellors are located in the Student Services/Administration areas on all main campuses, and are normally available between 8:30 am and 4:00 pm. Please phone the campus where you would like to make an appointment.

7. When should my son/daughter apply?
The Admissions department at Selkirk College accepts applications for admission up to 12 months prior to the start of any program.
Some programs outline a specific time schedule for the application procedure that includes a last date for submission of application and supporting documentation. Get a list of all programs offered at Selkirk College
Late applications to all programs will be considered, subject to availability of spaces.
8. What kinds of housing options are available for my son/daughter?
Kekuli House Residence - Your home away from home
Conveniently located on the Castlegar Campus, with spectacular views of the Columbia River valley, The Kekuli House Residence offers private accommodations for up to 100 students each academic year, and summer stay opportunities for students and the public.

9. What kinds of scholarships and bursaries are available and how do we apply?
Selkirk College strives to make post-secondary education accessible and affordable to its students through entrance scholarships, awards, bursaries and a work study program. See a complete list of Scholarships and Bursaries available at Selkirk College
Applications are available in the Financial Aid Office in Castlegar and may be downloaded from Financial Aid’s website.

12. Does Selkirk College offer an extended health plan for students?
As of August 1st, 2008, full time students will be covered under the extended health plan. For more information, email David Lubbers, Health and Dental Coordinator or visit the Selkirk College Student Union website.
13. Can we tour the campus?
One of the best ways to experience Selkirk College is to tour our facilities, speak with our instructors, or meet with our counsellors. Whether it be for an individual or a group, we can arrange a guided tour of the campus your student may be attending.
