PROJECT MANANGER – PAULA KISS

Paula completed a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and then built a varied career that included project support, implementation, management and supervision across Canada, Zambia, Turkey and Uganda. Her primary interest is in creating built environments that are intelligent, beautiful and functional.

When she moved to Nelson in 2007, she began a green building business and helped form a local branch of the Canadian Green Building Council. This Nelson branch of the Green Building Council developed an educational lecture series that investigated how the Selkirk dorms could be retrofitted--focusing attention on upgrading the facility using the LEED guidelines for major renovations. Selkirk included these ‘green building’ elements in a funding proposal which was eventually successful.

When the funding award was announced in November ‘09, Paula was more than happy to join forces with Selkirk to help them manage the Tenth Street residence renovation project.
