Selkirk has been a wonderful and enjoyable learning experience for me! I came to Selkirk in May 2014. The weather was beautiful and the lush green lawns around the college made it welcoming.
My 2 years were great and went by fast. I enjoyed the leisure of paying less tuition in comparison to other institutes in big cities. The Instructors were very helpful and were always willing to devote extra time to students. Selkirk gave me the opportunity to learn and absorb the Canadian culture from a small city perspective and slowly gel into the society.
One of the major reasons to move to Canada was to have a better living and a healthy life. Selkirk motivated me to ride my bike to school and play other games at the Gymnasium. I got a chance to get out of the routine of working full time and enjoy some time in peace and serenity.
Having completed my studies in PGDA, I was looking for full time work opportunities and landed a full-time job in the Finance department at Selkirk College. I enjoy my job and the fact that I work only 35 hours per week. The commute to and fro work is not stressful at all. I have a lot of time to do other activities and I am able to maintain the healthy life that I was looking forward to.
Castlegar is home to me and I barely imagine myself leaving this city. It has been 3 years since I moved to Canada and Castlegar has been the only place where I have lived ever since. Selkirk on the other end has helped me nurture, develop Canadian interpersonal skills, learn Accounting the Canadian way and is now the means of my livelihood!
In the end I would like to say,” Best of all-Inquire.”
