Hosted by the WIL Hub and the Teaching & Learning Institute at Selkirk College, this invitation is open to all post-secondary and secondary educators and community employer partners.
This event will feature a panel of students sharing their work integrated learning experiences. You will also hear from educators who are successfully expanding WIL opportunities in their learning areas and from community employers getting involved in supporting student education.

Our Event Facilitator: Welcoming Jennie Nilsson
Jennie Nilsson has been a passionate advocate of co-op and work-integrated learning for over 15 years.
Currently, she serves as president of the Association for Co-operative Education and Work-Integrated Learning (ACE-WIL) BC/Yukon, where she leads initiatives to promote policies and best practices to support high-quality work-integrated learning across B.C. through engagement with post-secondary institutions, employer groups, and governments.
Jennie holds a master of education in leadership studies from the University of Victoria and currently works as a co-op coordinator for the Faculty of Social Sciences there.
Jennie has extensive experience in employer engagement and believes strongly in the power of reflection to support student learning in work-integrated learning settings and to prepare students for the workforce of the future.
What is Work Integrated Learning?
Work-integrated learning is experiential education that formally and intentionally integrates a student’s academic studies within a workplace or practice setting to learn employability skills, personal agency and promote life-long learning.
