Co-learners are invited to celebrate the arrival of spring by connecting with some of the first traditional foods to arrive every year. Through the sharing of cultural and ecological knowledge, participants will learn how to identify, gather, process, and use spring plant food-medicines.
Sn̓ʕ̓ay̓ckstx Knowledge-Keeper, Robert Watt, will share traditional knowledge and personal experiences related to plant food-medicines, as well as concerns of the decline in traditional food availability. Snacks and drinks will be provided, including tastings of traditional food-medicines.
For those interested in Indigenous language revitalization, the N̓səl̓xcin language will be shared (introductions, greetings, plant names, placenames, etc.) and everyone is encouraged to give speaking a try!
Limited to 15 participants. To register, please email Rodney Noskiye
