Co-learners will have an opportunity to appreciate the meaning of ancestral placenames within Sn̓ʕay̓ckstx territory and their relationship with traditional foods. Plant names in the N̓səl̓xcin language will also be shared to highlight the association with animals, traditional use, and unique characteristics.
Sn̓ʕ̓ay̓ckstx Knowledge-Keeper, Robert Watt, will share traditional knowledge and cultural history along the way, providing participants with a richer understanding of the surrounding landscapes. For those interested in Indigenous language revitalization, the N̓səl̓xcin language will be shared and everyone is encouraged to give speaking a try!
Snacks and drinks will be provided, including tastings of traditional food-medicines.
Limited to 15 participants. To register, please email Rodney Noskiye.
