Enjoy eight virtual concerts presented over three nights!
Nathan Blacklock: As a guitar player, Nathan Blacklock seeks to provide entertainment and joy to listeners through the musical sounds and styles that have been inspirational to him. His band features a fantastic lineup of Selkirk College musicians who have been separated across the country by the Covid-19 pandemic but brought back together virtually through the means of modern technology.
Allow yourself to be taken back to simpler times with music that captures the vibes of dance halls of olde. Expect heavy ties to classic jump blues, Chicago blues, and western country swing. In these days of virtual concerts, the lack of a dance floor is of great concern. It is strongly suggested that listeners find their nearest family member, roommate, or broomstick to use as a dance partner. If dancing isn’t your bag, then simply sit back, tap your foot, and enjoy some of the complimentary imaginary virtual popcorn. Enjoy the show!
Also featuring: Alethia Stafford - voice, Payton Nixon - alto sax, Jake Kostuchuk - rhythm guitar, Duncan Shury - bass, Aden Goertzen - drums
Grace Clark: The Selkirk College Music Program is pleased to present singer and songwriter Grace Clark from Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Grace’s sweet melodies and passionate lyrics build a delicate but enticing world, reflecting on love and loss, and themes that you will want to dive right into. Grace draws inspiration from influences such as Taylor Swift, Lennon Stella, Tash Sultana, and Etta James. With hints of blues in her vocals, she creates a dynamic Indie Pop sound with an emotional edge. Joined by vocalist Talel McBriar and keyboardist Siji Olunuga, Grace invites you to get lost in the enthralling harmonies and refreshing piano solos.
